About Us

Why this? Why now?

Hello, my name is Joe

Several years ago, I bought a 1985 Mercedes (the white W123 wagon in the pic) mostly because I always wanted a classic Mercedes and also so that I could learn how to do more mechanical stuff in general. This led to an undiagnosed case of “I should buy that” which led to ownership of a 1992 W124 wagon (which is now gone) and now a 1991 350SD W126.

I started going to local car shows and meets, such as Cars & Coffee and anything else that I could fit into my schedule. I wanted to meet other people who like weird cars and see what else is around town.

It became quickly apparent that most “official” Cars & Coffee events curate the cars they let in and only want show cars. I know that there are people who like looking at cars that spend most of their lives under car covers in garages. However, I am not one of those people.

The “unofficial” events are more open but get overrun with modern muscle cars, like newer Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs, and all the various modern Dodge muscle cars. These cars also do not interest me.

I am interested in cars that are driven. I am interested in cars that you don’t see everyday. I am interested in cars with weird backstories and history. I am interested in cars that when you see one, you have to find the owner and talk to them about it. I am interested in the cars that make people come up to you and ask, “Hey, what year is that?”

I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in this regard. Reach out and let’s start something.
